A body of Work a Series of Art

Coastal Landscapes meets coastal urban

I started using gouache when doing a six month art challenge. This challenge also led me to start a series of art that continued on past the challenge to form a body of work that became part of a series. I think I have finished that series of work now. I will most likely be re-visiting the subject matter as it is easily accessible and my style will translate over to my other works. I have really focussed on a bold use of colour in my art of recent (actually since I have done this challenge) and it seems to be a continuing theme over my previous art work that was more dull and slightly more realistic. I am not too sure why I have changed to bold and bright colours (I do not have a reason for why I do everything in my art- it just happens and I continue with it).

Anyways here is my whole first series of art that I have created.

Where the Coast meets the Urban

Left to right: Boat Sheds, Rocky Shores, Quay, Urbanisation, Waterfront, and Lighthouse.

Urbanisation and Lighthouse were created using Procreate and I used gouache brushes. Most of this series are painted the traditional way and these two artworks started out as traditional painting, however, I never finished them and experimented with created gouache paintings in Procreate as a challenge.

A continuation of the series happened with these next two.

The next two were not considered part of the series but they do fit with the theme. Marina Cafe and Sunset.

My last few paintings started to become more refined than the ones at the start showing how regular art practice often changes as you go along evolving and as you try to keep to a consistent style.

I do have a few prints of these paintings available for sale on my website if you are interested.
